Thoughtful, individualized tutoring and college support
SAT & ACT tutoring, college essay coaching, and college application strategy for high school students.
About Ellie
I’m a Princeton graduate, professional writer, and experienced private tutor specializing in SAT/ACT tutoring, writing, and the college application process.
I grew up in Kansas City and attended Notre Dame de Sion High School, where I was salutatorian and a National Merit Finalist. I then graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Art History.
I worked for over three years in corporate communications and freelance writing, where I developed a deep understanding of storytelling and clear communication. I later began tutoring high school students and discovered how much I enjoy helping young people become stronger thinkers, writers, and test takers.
My approach is highly individualized. Whether I’m helping a student raise an ACT score, determine which colleges to consider, or find the right story for a personal statement, my goal is to understand how that particular student thinks and help them do their best work.

One-on-one support developing personal statements and supplemental essays that are thoughtful, engaging, and genuinely reflective of the student. I work with students from initial brainstorming through structure, drafting, and revision, with an emphasis on preserving each student's individual voice.
Individualized guidance through the college application process, from early strategy through submission. Depending on a student's needs, counseling may include college list development, application strategy and timelines, activity-list positioning, Early Decision/Early Action strategy, interview preparation, and overall application review.
College Application Strategy
A highly personal approach
Each student’s path to college is unique. I work with a limited number of students to get to know each one individually and tailor our work accordingly.
My role is a combination of teacher, editor, and strategic advisor. I aim to maintain a positive learning environment while holding students to a high standard to empower them in the process.
